LinkedIn actually adds a ‘seems like AI slop’ button

LinkedIn is rolling out a new feature that allows users to report posts that appear to be generated by artificial intelligence. The platform is introducing a dedicated button labeled 'Seems like AI slop' as part of a broader initiative to curb the spread of AI-generated content. This move comes after a study by AI detection firm Pangram found that 41% of longform posts on LinkedIn were flagged as entirely AI-generated, as reported by 404Media. Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan emphasized that addressing AI slop is a top priority for the company. The new reporting option aims to help users identify and flag content that lacks authenticity or appears to be produced by AI tools without meaningful human input.

TechnoVibes Opinion

This update reflects a growing need for social platforms to maintain content quality in the age of generative AI. For professionals relying on LinkedIn for networking and insights, this tool could help restore trust and reduce noise from automated posts.
