Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics 2 Now Controls Full Humanoid Body Movements

Google DeepMind has announced the latest iteration of its Gemini Robotics AI model, which now enables full-body control of humanoid robots. Unlike its predecessor, which was limited to upper-body movements, Gemini Robotics 2 supports coordinated motions from the feet to the fingertips. This advancement allows robots to perform complex actions such as walking, crouching, stretching, and manipulating objects with greater dexterity. In demonstration videos, Apptronik’s Apollo 2 robot is shown bending to pick up a watering can and retrieving specific items from shelves. The update marks a significant step toward more versatile and autonomous humanoid robots capable of handling a wider range of real-world tasks.
